Special Diet At Little Herons Nursery we have many children with food allegies/intolerance that we cater for, alongside children with special diet requirements for their religious beliefs.

Special Needs At Little Herons Nursery we have a statutory responsibility to meet the needs of children with SEN. We have a SEN Co-ordinator to help fulfil these responsibilities. The key responsibilities of the SENco include overseeing the day to day operation of the Nursery's SEN policy; liasing with and advising other practitioners; managing other SEN and learning support assistants; co-ordinating provision for pupils with SEN; liasing with parents of pupils with SEN; liasing with external agencies such as support services, health and social care services and voluntary bodies. Our SENCO will provide a personal plan which sets out short-term targets for the child and describes the support which will be provided to help them achieve. The personal plan will be updated on a regular basis. Children with more complex needs may be subject to an assessment possibly leading to an EHC plan. We ensure all children are welcome at Little Herons, treating their individual needs to a high standard.
